Wastewater pretreatment for food & beverage producers
Proper pretreatment of wastewater—whether from fish processors, slaughterhouses or dairy facilities—is key to ensuring regulatory compliance, cutting treatment costs and securing reliable operations. By removing fats, oils and grease (FOG), suspended solids, and high BOD/COD loads early in the process, you ease the load on downstream treatment, reduce chemical and energy demand, and open the door to resource recovery and water reuse.
Benefits
Reduce load, cut costs and stay compliant with modular, containerized pretreatment designed for the food and beverage industry. Our systems are fast to deploy, easy to integrate and run automatically—no need for major infrastructure changes.
Whether you’re treating wastewater from meat, fish, dairy or ready-to-eat production, Owatec solutions help you control solids, FOG, COD and nutrients—before they become a problem. Remote monitoring and automated flow control keep performance stable, even under variable loads.

Example Pretreatment Process
A typical wastewater treatment plant for food and beverage industry—tailored to your load and space.
Step 1: Raw screening
Owatec Pre is a pre-treatment unit in a 20ft sea container that separates large solid particles before the actual water treatment. Pre-treatment increases the reliability of the equipment.
Flow capacity 5 – 200 m3/h
Step 2: Chemical treatment
Owatec Floc is a chemical dosing unit with a spill pallet in a 20ft sea container that prepares, stores, and doses the necessary chemicals. Also available a space-saving pipe reactor designed for indoor use.
Flow capacity 5 – 240 m3/h
Step 3: Solids removal
Owatec DAF is a flotation unit in a 20 or 40 ft sea container that efficiently separates solids and other impurities from wastewater. Solid separation achieves up to 98% efficiency with micro and nanobubble feeding.
Flow capacity 7 – 60 m3/h I 7 – 120 m3/h
Step 4: Sludge dewatering
Owatec Dewater is a screw press unit in a 20ft sea container that enables sludge thickening and the separation of solids and water.
Scalable flow capasity.
